Disability Conscious Medicine

Objectives:

Elevate the understanding of Diversity to include the intersectional experience of Disability alongside other systemic disadvantages like social class, race, age, sex, gender identity, and geographic location.
Recognize Disability bias and the specific impact of Disability on health disparities resulting in tension between Disabled communities and Medicine.
Learn tools to address and reject ableism in Healthcare as described in the Health Equity Framework from the National Council on Disability (www.ncd.gov)
