Writing Effective Learning Objectives: A Little Theory, and Some Practice
Event Description
Presented by Justine Strand de Oliveira, DrPH, PA-C, vice chair for education, Duke Community and Family Medicine. Participants will distinguish between learning goals and objectives, describe the use of a revised Bloom’s taxonomy to write learning objectives, list characteristics of good objectives, and use the ABCD formula and a checklist to write learning objectives. This session is geared toward faculty and staff who develop or deliver curriculum. Participants should bring a proposed topic, real or imaginary, and will write three learning objectives during the session. Please bring existing objectives, especially those that you would like to improve or re-write.
